Yellowstone National Park 1/2
This picture is just one page out of a 60 page book on Yellowstone National Park. The book was published in 1883 by the Northern Pacific Railroad Company and its contents are as much as an advertisement for the national park as it was for the railroad itself. The first 30 pages of the book look similar to this page: novel like descriptions of scenery with gorgeous artwork inserted on every single page. Here we can see a variety of shots of “Old Faithful”, which look more or less the same but are certainly unique. In addition to Old Faithful, there are a number of other sketches inserted throughout the book. These include Yellowstone River, Mammoth Hot Springs, Gibbon Falls, the Great Falls, and some other unnamed ones.
